Great news! A new marine park in Golfo San Jorge, Argentin has been signed into law as a result of an effort by the Bronx-Zoo based Wildlife Conservation Society. The goal was to help protect more than half a million, yes, 500,000 penguins and other rare seabirds.
That is reason to celebrate without a world wide holiday!
An estimated 20 percent of the Magellanic penguin species in the world live in this region.
