I was just in San Francisco 2 weeks ago and was hoping to stop by and visit the penguins at the California Academy of Sciences. Then I realized it wouldn’t be open to the public until September. I was bummed. Only 100 days until opening though, mark your calendars!
However, I hear the penguins, which just moved in are quite happy with their new home. 20 African penguins are now living at the newly built museum in Golden Gate Park. There was a media debut yesterday.

“The penguin habitat is designed to replicate what the penguins would experience in nature. But don’t expect ice floes and snow, these particular penguins aren’t that kind. They come from South Africa and Namibia.” – KTVU.com
